Coming Soon To Book 2 - Alan Davies

Great news this week as comedian, actor and TV celebrity celebrity Alan Davies has agreed to be photographed for the new book. He is on tour this autumn, and I shall meet him before his show at the Reading Hexagon in October. 

The continued success, and ever increasing list of people coming on board is potentially going to push the release date of the book back, which is fine as the main thing is to make the book as good as it can be. The book is already as big as the first book with loads more chapters still to do.

So far I have photographed, Matthew Wright, Status Quo, Ben Richards, Horace Panter, Clare Grogan, David Levenson, Mick Channon, The Stranglers, Dodgy and not forgetting the ever increasing list of "normal" people. I have plenty more exciting possibilities bubbling away so its looking good at the moment. 

Sales of book 1 have dropped right back recently, and it has been difficult to keep the momentum going on that whilst spending so much time writing the new book. I need to find a way of getting sales going again.

Meeting Clare Grogan

I met up with the lovely Clare Grogan for the latest chapter in the new book. She was performing an Altered Images set at Let's Rock in Southampton. The day turned out to be quite eventful including how I managed to get myself thrown out of the press pit whilst photographing her as the chapter in the book will describe. I got shots of the performance and then a special shot back stage photo after having had a chat with her. She also very kindly posed for a photo with the bowel cancer tie. With the recent photographic activity I have quite a lot of writing to do now :)

Sound-Checking with The Stranglers

Another chapter was added to the book this week when I was invited to meet up with punk legends The Stranglers at their sound-check before the gig in Reading. It was another brilliant opportunity to observe artists from a slightly different angle to the norm. Having seen the sound-check I was back in the evening as a fan to witness a stunning show. The full story will appear in the new book due out in November. Meanwhile sales of the first book remain quiet at the moment so that needs a boost! :)

Next up this weekend is Clare Grogan 1980s singer from Altered Images.

Mick Channon + Latest News

This week on one of the hottest days of the year so far, I went to meet ex footballer and now racehorse trainer Mick Channon at his Berkshire stables, and photographed him for the new book. He was a really nice bloke surrounded by a lovely team, and they very keen to help and take part. I spent an hour an hour at the stables, and was taken up to gallops to see Mick working with the horses in action. The full story will appear in the  new book.

This week I have also written a chapter on pubs, and I met up with Pete Bland, landlord of The Malsters Arms near Henley. This chapter will also include a surprise appearance by my late grandfather! :) 

Meanwhile sales of the first book have slowed again after a recent spurt. Sales stand at 309, and all the information about about it where to buy it can be found by clicking here.

There are plenty more people in the pipeline with some potentially very exciting developments hopefully. Next up I am photographing 80s pop star Clare Grogan from Altered Images.
